The Rothaarsteig is maintained by people who repair steps, realign trail markers, fix benches, and replant areas. The Rothaarsteig Förderer + Freunde association funds part of this work through donations.

Important to know: This donation does not offset your carbon footprint. It goes toward trail maintenance and local conservation efforts—two separate things that we do not mix together. Your donation is not a carbon offset.

Where the Money Goes

The association collects all donations via this QR code (or by specifying the payment reference “Trail Maintenance & Nature Conservation”) and allocates them once a year in a consolidated manner to a specific project. We showcase the results at www.rothaarsteig.de.

Possible uses include:

• Planting and nature conservation measures along the trail
• Maintenance and preservation of the hiking trails
• Repair of rest areas and trail infrastructure
