InstaHike on the Rothaarsteig
Together with the Siegen-Wittgenstein district ,we invite you to a special InstaHike on the Rothaarsteig on Friday, September 25, 2026. Under the theme “With All Your Senses,” you can look forward to a guided evening hike where stunning nature, regional delicacies, and great photo opportunities come together to create a special experience.
We’ll meet at 3:00 p.m. at the Niederdresselndorf train station. From there, we’ll take the train together to Holzhausen, where our hike along the Romantic Hickengrund begins. Over the course of about seven kilometers, we’ll explore the diverse landscape of the southern Rothaarsteig and enjoy special views and moments along the way.
Our first stop awaits you at the Großer Stein hiking parking lot. There, we’ll meet the Hickenziegen, who will accompany us for a few kilometers. The hike then continues through the Wetterbach Valley, where the Fiester Hannes inn has prepared a small regional snack. Afterward, we’ll head up to a secluded forest bench near the transmission tower. There, we’ll wind down the evening and hope for a spectacular sunset—the perfect moment for impressive souvenir photos. As twilight sets in, we’ll then make our way back to the Niederdresselndorf train station.
Thanks to the kind support of our partner Tatonka, every participant will receive a high-quality backpack. Those who have already participated in an InstaHike can look forward to an alternative gift.
