Take the S40 bus line or the hiking bus from Oberkirchen back to Schmallenberg or Grafschaft.
Please note the timetable (closed on Mondays) for the hiking bus.
The hike leads along the Kyrill Trail, past two sculptures of the WaldSkupturenWeg Wittgenstein - Sauerland, over parts of the Rothaarsteig, the WaldSkulpturenWeg and parts of the Oberkirchen photo route.
From the Schanze hiking parking lot, follow the signs for the Forest Sculpture Trail towards the village, the Kyrill Trail and the sculpture "Der Krummstab". It is possible to continue the hike along the Kyrill Trail. The path ends back on your hiking trail. Follow the hiking sign WaldSkulpturenWeg to the end of the path at "Klobmannsrücken". Here, turn left onto the Rothaarsteig (white horizontal R on a red background) in the direction of Albrechtsplatz.After approx. 600 meters, turn left onto the Rothaarsteig towards Schanze (hiking signs include SZ5 and Rothaarsteig). At the soldier's grave, you will come across the WaldSkulpturenWeg hiking sign and the Rothaarsteig feeder trail (black horizontal R on a yellow background). Follow these to the right in the direction of "Almerter Plätze".Turn right there and follow the hiking signs E1 and X2 in the direction of Hexenplatz, another sculpture on the WaldSkulpturenWeg. At Hexenplatz, follow the hiking sign O2 (Oberkirchen photo route) in the direction of Oberkirchen / Lüttmecke.In Lüttmecke on the asphalt path, continue walking with the sign O2, cross the stream and turn left behind it and walk with the signs O2 and the Golddorf-Route Oberkirchen (golden G on a red background). The path leads you past the Hermannsteich pond into the village of Oberkirchen. At the end of the path, turn left into Schützenstraße. After just a few meters, turn right into the street "Zur Lüttmecke". This will take you to the center of the village and to the bus stop "Kirche".
