New hikes on new paths

Wanderer lehnt an Baum mit MarkierungThe markings – new hikes on new paths
The Rothaarsteig has been laid out completely afresh, with the express aim of achieving quality standards which meet the sophisticated requirements of the new hiking public. Well marked paths and in the future a clearly signposted network of paths are intended to help you to find your way easily on the Rothaarsteig and to reach your next intended destination.

RothaarsteiglogoThis symbol marks the main path which connects Brilon with Dillenburg by a direct route. The path is supplemented by the delightful countryside of the valley alternative in the high Sauerland and the vantage points offered by the mountain variant in the high Westerwald.

gelbes LogoThis symbol indicates the official access paths. They connect the main path with the surrounding towns and their hotels and catering establishments, or show the hiker the way to the Rothaarsteig hiking world.

WegweiserThe new signposting, of untreated larchwood and durable aluminium and with a contemporary design, sets new accents. Signposts and route boards have been installed at all intersections of marked hiking paths. They inform the hiker of
- the location and the height above sea level
- the further course of the path
- the near and distant destinations that can be reached along the Rothaarsteig
- the distances to the destinations marked
- the marking symbols for the respective hiking paths

Work on signposting the path has begun, which now points the way at many points.
